About Me

Hi! My name is Izabella Pitaniello, though I usually go by just Bella. I am an alumni of Emerson College as I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in film. My main focuses in film production lie in editing and makeup. I also enjoy set design, special effects makeup, and costume styling.
While at Emerson, I worked on over 31 different student film/photography sets. My crew experience consists of working as an assistant director, editor, assistant editor, camera operator, costume designer, set designer, hair stylist, makeup artist, and special effects makeup artist. In college I was part of two film organizations. The first being Emerson Independent Video (EIV), and the second being the National Broadcasting Society (NBS).
In the spring of 2023, I won an EVVY under the "Outstanding Makeup Artistry" category for my SFX makeup in Santha Rowels mini-series, Genre Away. In the spring of 2024, I was nominated three times at the EVVY's. Once for "Editing for Nonfiction" and twice for "Outstanding Makeup Artistry." I won another EVVY for "Outstanding Makeup Artistry" for my special effects makeup in Jonas Engle's BA, Thing Beyond. In the spring of 2025, during my final semester at Emerson, I was nominated twice at the EVVY's under the "Outstanding Makeup Artistry" category. Once for my SFX makeup in STACKS: Episode 1 - Fight, and another for my SFX makeup in Pandoras's Room: Episode 1. I went on to win the EVVY for my makeup in Owen Mitchell's mini-series, STACKS: Episode 1 - Fight.
When I was not working on student film sets I was part of many extra curricular's on campus. I was the co-president of Emerson's chapter of Best Buddies for 2 years. Best Buddies is the world's largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical, and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). I was also part of the Emerson Green Collective (EGC), Atlas Magazine, and briefly part of Emerson Mystic and the Emerson cheer squad.
During my 4 years at Emerson I worked two on campus jobs. For all four years I worked at Jumpstart, starting as a Core Member then as a Team Leader for 2 years. During my senior year I was promoted to Community Engagement Coordinator. While studying abroad at Emerson LA I also worked on campus with Student Lunchbox. While in college I also had three internships. During the fall of my Junior year I studied abroad in London, England and interned at MAD Global and Future+ as their social media intern. Then coming back to Boston in the spring I interned at Vagrants as their Post-Production intern. Finally, during the fall of my Senior year while in Los Angeles I interned again as a Post-Production intern for the company, Partizan.
Currently I am moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the film industry. My goal is to either become an editor, makeup artist, or both. Working towards the goal of becoming a makeup artist I will be attending Make-up Designory (MUD) this fall in hopes of perfecting my Special Effects makeup skills.
Here's to the future!
